MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - NONWOVENS

Job Summary:
|
This position plans and executes Nonwovens process and productivity improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of textile processing, fiber characteristics, and needlepunched nonwovens.
|
|
Responsibilities:
|
- Analyze Nonwoven department process capabilities on line by line basis and develop and execute improvement projects.
- Execute assigned Six Sigma projects
- Member of Nonwovens Kaizen team; execute assigned projects
- Work closely with Maintenance to improve machine uptime
- Maintain current set up and spec sheets for each product
- As member of new product launch team, ensure Nonwovens process capability meets profitability targets

Requirements:
|
- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- 5-7 years of needle punched nonwovens engineering experience; automotive related experience a plus
- Experience with processes that use staple fiber necessary
- Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
- Must be a self starter and able to manage multiple tasks
- Proven ability to execute projects from start to finish, as well as meet deadlines and cost constraints required
- Demonstrated effective communications and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work effectively with line associates.
- Working knowledge of basic statistical techniques required
- Knowledge of Toyota Production System a plus.
